Nicole’s 40 Over 40 Story: Saying Yes to Herself & Stepping Into Confidence
At our studio, we believe women over 40 deserve to be celebrated—not hidden, not minimized, not overlooked. That’s why our 40 Over 40 Boudoir Campaign is so close to our hearts. It’s a project built to honor confidence, resilience, and the beauty of embracing every stage of life.
Today, we’re honored to share the story of Nicole, a woman who took a leap she never expected to take—and reconnected with herself in the process.
For years, boudoir wasn’t something Nicole ever envisioned herself doing. It felt outside her comfort zone, and she wasn’t sure if it was “for her.” But her husband had always encouraged her to try. She said: “It wasn’t something I was really comfortable with, until I saw the 40 over 40 campaign! I thought why not!! You only live once!”
We asked her how she felt before her session and she said: “At first I was really nervous especially during the consultation phone call, but talking with Terri made me feel comfortable and the closer we got to the date I was ready! All my what if feelings disappeared and became more about excitement!”
When Nicole arrived at the studio, she started her day with professional hair and makeup, followed by selecting her outfits for the session. She shared, “I was surprised at the client closet! As someone who doesn’t wear lingerie, I felt comfortable and free!”
Then it was time to start shooting—where we guided her through every pose and made sure she felt confident every step of the way. By the end, Nicole said the experience “definitely gave me a boost of confidence!”
When the moment came to view her images for the first time, Nicole was stunned! She said, “When I first saw my pics I was like omg that’s me!!!! I couldn’t believe it! I still can’t believe the pictures are of me!”
Nicole decided to gift her album to her husband—an unforgettable gift that will be cherished for years to come! Nicole said, “I gifted them to my husband who was floored!!! And cried!”
We asked Nicole what she’d say to other women over 40 who might be thinking about joining the movement: “Do it!!!! Don’t be afraid!!!!”
